Stellar is a protocol built for financial applications at the end of the day. And, that is really what it is. A large part of Lumens is set to be split between enterprises. DSTOQ are one of them.
Tyler van der Hoeven, tweeted: “Did you catch yesterday’s episode with @CraigDSTOQ? It’s definitely one you don’t want to miss. Hear about how @dstoq is making investing accessible and affordable for emerging markets. Built on @StellarOrg!”
Sydney Ifergan, the crypto expert, tweeted: “Crazy Quotes for fund transfer between countries, and Stellar Lumens (XLM) trying to sort it with their Cross Border Payments. Impressive as ever.”
Craig Mc Gregor, CEO of DSTOQ, when asked about how they arrived at the product they have stated: “We are essentially an interface for the buying and selling of security tokens both on the Stellar Blockchain. And, as you mentioned, they are happy to be one of the first recipients of the Stellar Enterprise Fund.”
As a company, we have been working on stellar for 3 years. It takes a long time in a business such as ours to actually get a product to the market. We just announced the release of our products, and therefore these are super exciting times now for us.
Stellar Lumens (XLM) DSTOQ in South Africa
As you may be able to tell from my accents, I am actually from South Africa. And, originally founded DSTOQ in South Africa in Cape Town. Me personally, I come from a Finance Background. I was working in asset management. Trying to start DSTOQ and I was basically fine with selling shares, investing, and trading in stock markets in South Africa, but for a global fund and my background is on the Finance side.
I met my co-founder, an Entrepreneur from Germany down in Cape Town, to do business there. He came for some real estate business, and he was looking at quoting a model to South Africa. He realized it was really expensive to move money from a developed market into an emerging one and back and forth.
So, he was talking to his bank about how much it would cost to send money to South Africa and was just getting crazy quotes that he was super unhappy with. And, his friends just spoke to be, and I had been in crypto for a while prior to that, and that is basically how we got in touch, and from there, we started looking at what problems we can solve with crypto or blockchain basically.
I was involved in to essentially a problem that we resolved I was aware of as I was from a finance background. And, we thought we found a solution to that problem, which was crypto. So, the problem is basically moving one’s assets cross-borders. And, when you are coming from an emerging market, it is just ridiculously expensive to do that, it gets crazy.
If you want to make payments abroad, you are going to pay massive amounts of money. Of course, what Stellar is trying to solve, making it easier for cross border payments.
